Offshore Lightning is an intriguing, 250-page, softcover collection of subtle, oblique short manga stories. Nazuna started out as an editorial illustrator and only shifted to fictional narratives in her forties. All but the last two of these pieces were originally published in the early 1990s in Hanashi No Tokushu magazine, while the final two appeared in different collections in 2012 & 2015. This collection includes the informative essay, "Saito Nazuna: Living to Tell the Tale," by Mitsuhiro Asakawa. All the manga along with the essay are ably translated into English from the original Japanese by Alexa Frank; font and sound effects are by Rumi Hara.
