Forty-eight newsprint pages jammed with ink lines from fine to fat that converge to concoct a filthy fable fit for the funny pages of the 21st century, in the tradition founded by the Fantagraphics family (but especially reminiscent of early Peter Bagge). Get ready for the altered states of comic book consciousness! Wishbone is a 32 page comic book that is anything but standard. A chaotic Coney Island movie shoot is a pretty good metaphor for the USA today and Garcia pulls out all the stops in the first installment of "Fur City Mystique", the frisky fable that makes up the bulk of this issue, accompanied by a short two-pager, "Ranger Danger." Funny animals were never like this!
