Deep within the comics terra incognita of the 1990s there lurks the self-published, hand-made mini-comics (with generally miniscule print-runs and largely local-only distribution), filled with the freaky, fun & friendly free-associations of Mark Connery's Rudy.  These comics can be seen as the antecedents – that likely nourished the growth – of Marc Bell*'s inimical iconoclastic cartoon stylings and Matthew Thurber's absurdist social satire.  Here in this 240 page volume,these comics are at last given a more lasting and accessible home.
