Executed in the same multiple medias – pen and ink, ink wash, water colors, and collage – on perhaps an even more diverse selection of surfaces – in addition to her now trademarked use of lined, yellow legal pad paper, she here works with assorted notebook pages, graph paper and construction paper, as well as pages torn from books, magazines and newspapers – Barry amply demonstrates that her multi-media mastery continues to be in full force. Every page is a pleasure to look at, and while each page taken on its own may or may not display any obvious narrative content, taken as a whole the book most certainly coheres into a nourishing organic whole. Clearly she is not afraid to take artistic risks and is comfortable working with whatever is at hand.
