OUT OF STOCK!
Here's the first hardcover volume in the latest series by Kazuo Umezz to be translated into English. My Name is Shingo was originally published in Japan in 2009, and this "Perfect Edition" will run four volumes in total. This first volume, at 304 pages, has a bit lighter page count than usual for these Umezz collections, but the second volume is 60% longer, so it kind of evens out.
You can get a taste of what's in store by checking out a 20-page preview (and also a goofy/campy "trailer", if you are so inclined), HERE.
Here's the set up:
When an industrial robot named Monroe begins to work at his father’s factory, Satoru is fascinated. As he and his friend Marin spend more time with Monroe, they start to suspect there’s much more to the machine than anyone else realizes. But neither children nor adults are prepared for Monroe’s violent awakening into consciousness.
