ONE COPY
This is an illustrated story – not comics – just to be clear.
Here's a nice, first edition, first print copy of the original 1952 hardcover edition of The Glob by John Reilly that is plentifully illustrated by Walt Kelly, the creator of Pogo! (was it ever reprinted? We're not sure.) Our in-house grader is a professional comic book grader with only minimal experience in book grading, but here goes: Book grade: Very Good ; Dustjacket grade: Good. The dustjacket has been professionally protected with a library wrap. A Note on Provenance: This copy came with a receipt showing that it had been purchased from Bud Plant & Hutchinson Books – respected experts in the book trade – in 2011 for $75.00. ($75 in 2011 = over $100 in 2026, adjusted for inflation, just FYI)You can see more pics of this actual copy up on our eBay listing for this item, where we are also offering it (but, as you will notice, at a substantially higher price; so, special deal for Copacetic customers!).

ONE BRAND NEW* COPY of the original hardcover edition; first print
*(While this book is indeed new and unread, there is a 2-3" diagonal crease through the top corner of two pages.)
Originally published in 2014, Last Stories was proclaimed by Vollmann at the time as actually being his "last work." Although there was indeed a five year haitus, he has since 2020 resumed publishing.
To learn more here's a brief review of this work in the Harvard Review.
