Mt. Lebanon Library Comics Festival

Posted on 09 November 13:11 (over 7 years ago)

On the evening of Saturday, November 18, from 6:30 to 8:30pm, Copacetic will be making a rare foray into the South Hills of Pittsburgh to participate in the first Lebo Comics Festival at the Mt. Lebanon Public Library, located at 16 Castle Shannon Blvd (15228). We should note here that we will be in “display only” mode, and so will be offering anyone stopping by a chance to scope out a heaping helping of the copious fall releases currently displayed in the shop on the Copacetic new arrivals tables, which are, in their spectacularity, vying with the natural display of fall itself.  We’ll also be highlighting Made in Pittsburgh productions.  And, lest there be any doubt, Copacetic is just one small part of the festival – there will be plenty of other comics-related activities, most notably comics making workshops led by the Comics Workbook team!  Learn more HERE.  (Please note: as a result of our participation in this event, the shop will be closing at 5:00pm on this date.)

SPOOKY PARTY! Saturday 28 October

Posted on 17 October 21:10 (over 7 years ago)

Hold onto your hats, because from 7:00 to 9:00pm on the evening of Saturday, October 28, SPOOKY PARTY returns to Copacetic! On hand for this year’s party are: CMU alum, and globetrotting multidisciplinary artist, Juliacks, who is coming through town to celebrate the release of her category-defying work, The Architecture of an Atom, just released by 2dCloud; erstwhile Pittsburgh-resident, Blaise Larmee, who will likewise be premiering his new book, 2001, also from 2dCloud; the indefatigable Nate McDonough, who will – naturellement! – be premiering a new comics work; Dan McCloskey, who has returned to home base after a year of nearly non-stop traveling and adventure, just in time to finish up a short piece of comics that will premiere here; Nils Balls, who is, as we type, burning the midnight oil to get his latest project ready for the Spooky Party deadline; and… who knows who else might have a new comic to premiere? Be prepared!
