No, Thanks! was the winner of the 2023 CRAM Books Mini Comic Month Contest.  It is a 24 page risograph that is printed in black & white with blue spot color  (+ red spot color on the front cover).  It is printed on a heavy, stiff, offwhite stock that is well suited to the crisp fine-lined drawings out of which these concise, sharply witty comics are constructed.  Reading these we felt a bit of the spirit of the early Don Martin comics for Mad, but in place of Martin's focus on developing short narratives with humorous punchlines, Höppner's focus is more on the formal attributes that make comics work (including, intriguingly, the page numbers, which are clever (very) little visual puzzles of various sorts that could be seen as distant cousins to Sergio Aragones's "in the margins" drawings for Mad).  Both Martin and Höppner locate humor directly in their exaggerated caricatural styles.
