This full color graphic album (bande desinee) from the one and only David B. (Epileptic) is for kids – well, enfants français, anyway; it may be considered too dark for our American friends. David B. is a monster talent who can make comics do things that no one else can, so whatever he tries his hand at is worth a look. This one is no exception. David B. has created a vivid comics adaptation of the classic tale of the same title, by French novelist and songwriter, Pierre Mac Orlan. The 44 full color – but with an accent on the darker hues – pages create a tale of the damned crew of the Flying Dutchman, and of the innocent child who appears in their midst. It is a tale that will chill your bones but warm your heart.
