Prokaryote Season is the US-debut of UK-based cartoonist, Leo Fox (with more on the way).  It is a symbol-laden rendering of the story of a fantastically fraught, trans-themed love-triangle that takes the form of a 168-page, standard size graphic novel, printed in black & white on a nice, offwhite stock.
