2021 Top Ten | 2022 New Arrivals

The books are now closed on 2021 here at The Copacetic Comics Company and among the various data accumulated during that year-end summing up process, one that seemed worth sharing here is the list of the Top Ten sellers of the year, and so, here it is!

And, yes, 2022 is off to a faster start than it may appear from our current listings as there are indeed plenty of great new releases gracing the new arrivals table at the shop that have yet to be listed here on the website. Here's a look at some noteworthy examples:

Shop CLOSED on President's Day

The shop will be closed on Monday 21 February 2022 in observance of the President's Day Holiday.

Store Status Update for The Omicron Age

Internet ordering continues to operate as usual.

The shop continues to be open Thursday through Monday, from 11am to 4pm (to 5pm on Saturday and Sunday).

In addition, we would like to let store customers know that, for what it’s worth, we have installed the highest level HVAC filtration – MERV 13 – that our furnace can handle. We are also – currently – keeping the door to the outside hallway open, keeping the the front and rear windows open a few inches, and intermittently running an exhaust fan in the rear of the shop, so the air in the shop is being continually renewed.

The same, current restrictions continue to remain in place:

1) Masks are required to be worn in the shop at all times.

2) Complimentary medical gloves and hand-sanitizer are provided upon entry to the shop for anyone who would like to employ them – but they are no longer required.

3) There is a limit of FIVE customers in the shop at any one time.

Also, we are, generally, limiting shop visits to 30 minutes.

CCS BIPOC Cartoonist Fund Benefit Auction

Attention Collectors of Bronze Age Keys: We are managing an eBay benefit auction for The Center for Cartoon Studies that features some of the most sought after books (see below):

100% of the proceeds of this auction are going towards the establishment of The BIPOC Cartoonist Fund, an initiative of The Center for Cartoon Studies. The BIPOC Cartoonist fund is designed to both further the diversity of comics production and bring creative voices from the margins towards the center by providing funding to cartoonists who are black, indigenous and/or people of color.

Holiday Store Schedule, New Arrivals, and, Yes, We Do Offer Gift Certificates

Hard as it is to believe, the winter solstice is already in our rear view mirror, and Christmas and the end of the year are all nearly upon us – we're in the home stretch! Here are our hours for the rest of 2021:

Thursday, December 23: 11am to 5pm

Friday, December 24 (Christmas Eve): 10am to 2pm

Saturday, December 25 (Christmas): CLOSED

Then, it's back to our regular schedule beginning Sunday, December 26 (listed above and to the right in the sidebar).

There is a slew of new arrivals some of which are not (yet) up on the site, including plenty of giftworthy 2021 prose fiction and non-fiction by some of today's top writers, somwe of which are pictured below.

And, if you find yourself wrackng your brain looking for something for any tough-to-buy-for individuals – whether it's a case of you're not sure what they like, or not sure what they already have – if you know they like Copacetic (or think they would), there's always the option of getting them a gift certificate! Available in five denominations between $10 and $100 (However, please note: these gift certificates are – currently – only redeemable in the shop.)

Breakdown Press Arrivals: New and Restock

Three boxes have arrived from Breakdown Press in the UK. The highlight is the loooong awaited conclusion to Conor Stechschulte's masterwok, Generous Bosom. Other highlights include restocks of Shaky Kane's The Good News Bible, along with Seasonal Shift by Lala Albert and Pits of Hell by Yoshikazu Ebisu.
