Here's the fourth issue of the hand crafted comic book anthology, Cram!

Edited by Andrew Alexander, this issue features 50 pages of risograph comics each of which takes its own approach to storytelling comics making and color (including two contributors who eschew it all together), all enclosed by a frenetically detailed wraparound cover by Max Burlingame.

The drawing on hand here ranges from clean line to rat line, the layouts from 30-panel pages to the full page splashes, all in the service of highly imaginative comics.

Artists featured this issue are:  Kim Deitch, Gabriel Mason Howell, David King, Katie Lane, Paul Peng, Jake Terrell, Marc Torices & Beatrix Urkowitz.  

 And don't forget:  handmade = limited quantity; the first two issues of Cram are already out of print, and the third won't last much longer...

The latest from Gabriel Mason Howell, Little Misanthropist, shows him working through oscillations between misandry & queer desire & how one's own identity can shape that push & pull. Rendering his sardonic take on relationship dynamics with a high degree of craft, this update on a pre-pandemic self-release not only demonstrates Howell's evolution as an artist, but how his thinking on the topic has changed as well, making for a compelling mix of humor, wit, and pathos done with a sophisticated visual diction that complements his themes well.

Gabriel Mason Howell is a trans male cartoonist, illustrator, tattooist, and printmaker currently based in Chicago. In addition to various self-published releases, he's worked with Secret Acres, Bred Press, & Lumpen Magazine, amongst others. His design & illustration work spans a range of artists, such as Phoebe Bridgers, 100 gecs, Perfect Hair Forever, and PC Music, as well as an ongoing relationship with WKND skateboards.
