Cedar Van Tassel provides us with a rare long-form Appleguy tale in God's Sod House, where the chronically curious & obstinately opinionated pair spend an afternoon trying to expand their minds with Blazingstar, an artist with a fluid understanding of reality, the divine, & art's role in shaping both. Weaving commentary about artist intent, commercialism, and how meaning travels through our image-dominated world into the buddy-narrative that drives the Appleguy universe, Van Tassel once again shows his ability to deftly balance insightfulness & humor that he's become known for in his strip work.

Cedar is an illustrator & cartoonist responsible for the Instagram strip of note, Appleguy, of which he self-published a print collection in 2023, plus appearances in places like the eponymous Cram Books anthology & Frankenstein Magazine.
