The Sylvia Chronicles is sub-titled, "30 Years of Graphic Misbehavior from Reagan to Obama."  Yes, she's been around awhile (as this book was published one year into Obama's administration, it would be just shy of "40 years," if reissued now).  Nicole Hollander was a pioneer of feminist sensiblities in the syndicated newspaper comics strip, preceding – and influencing – both Lynda Barry and Alison Bechdel with her observational wit and cutting satire.  This volume is organized by theme, and makes the perfect introduction to this great strip.
