If you are a fan of jazz – and especially if you dig its earlier days – then you will enjoy Jazz Anecdotes.  It is packed with amazing stories of the great jazz figures and their doings; fun engaging intriguing and plenty food for thought.  Great nightstand reading.  RECOMMENDED!   Originally published in 1990, we just turned up a a clean, second hand copy of the first print softcover edition, in the archives.  It's not new, but is still in nice shape; there is NO writing, NO underlining, NO highlighting in either; also, NO tears, NO stains.   You can jump right in and read a bunch of online, HERE.
